In another controversial move, US President Donald J. Trump recognizes Israeli control of the Golan Heights in Syria which was annexed in 1981. Other than Israel, the US is the first nation to recognize their sovereignty over the territory.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responds by unveiling a settlement in the Golan Heights called "Trump Heights."
