The US hosts Israel and Palestine for additional negotiations, aiming to orchestrate a land swap in which Israel was willing to provide 91% of West Bank territory to Palestine and certain portions of Jerusalem in exchange for the remaining 9% of territory.

The talks fail as an agreement is not made, eventually sparking the Second Intifada.
