When Oblivion turned their attention now to the second Universe of Infinity and Eternity’s creation, they expected to find an isolated cosmos to quash as easily as the first. They instead found a spiraling web of connected cosmos. Regardless of how many they crushed, more spawned, as the Multiverse splintered and pushed against the bounds of Oblivion. They seethed and took solace that Death would descend upon them all and strip them of their life before Oblivion consumed them again.

Within this core Cosmos, a life spawned with ambition. They grew in their understanding, in their desire for power not only over one another or others, but over creation itself. They learned of the Infinity Gems and of their power, and reasoned that with them, they could rework their universe into a shape of their own making. To wield extraordinary power at their own whim. And though it took ages beyond reason, they acquired the stones, and gave themselves power unrealized by mortals, and were as if gods. But it was not enough, and the power corrupted them. Soon, there were some who sought to use the stones to destroy the universe and remake it in their own image, so that they would be not as gods, but would be gods, unrivaled.
