Lenin cooperates with German authorities who orchestrate his return to Russia in a sealed railway boxcar. The Germans wanted him to create chaos and harm Russia's war effort and on April 16th, 1917 Lenin returned to Petrograd after many years of exile to become the leader of the Bolsheviks.
