1 янв 1076 г. - Dictatus papae
Описание:
What was it?
- Created by Pope Gregorius VII in 1075 AD, it contained 27 statements cementing his supreme authority and his right to investitures.
- This supported the idea of the Pope being 'above' Emperor Henry IV.
What happened?
- Emperor Henry IV was excommunicated as he did not accept these new rights of the Pope.
- Other European kings, lords, dukes, etc. started rebelling against Emperor Henry IV's position and instead claimed loyalty to the Pope.
- Emperor Henry IV begged to be accepted back at the caste of Canossa, ultimately submitting his authority and power to the Pope.
