Around 2000 B.C., Egyptians traveled to Nubia in search for gold, ivory, cattle, and granite blocks.
Ancient Egyptian writting syytem called hieroglyphics is invented around 3000 B.C.
Queen Hatshepsut takes over the throne and rules for 22 years.
KIng Tutankhamun was buried in the Valley of the Kings.
Períodos
Old Kingdom - time where pharaohs had all the power and pyramids were bulit to put the pharaohs in after death.
Middle Kingdom - time where art and literature flourished, trading became more successful and Egypts capital was moved to Thebes.
New Kingdom - time where pharaohs like King Tut, Ramses the Second, and Hatshepsut ruled. Military expansion created a large empire.
1st Intermediate Period - serious of droughts and fighting between pharaohs led to the fall of the Old Kingdom.
2nd Intermediate Period - a group called Hyksos conquered Egypt and they ruled during this period. Until the Egyptians gained Egypt back starting the New Kingdom.
