Descrição:

DATING THE BIBLICAL CHRONOLOGY by Gerard Gertoux

Start of the 483-year period leading to the appearance of the Messiah, according to Daniel 9:25. Nehemiah adds that the command to reestablish and to rebuild Jerusalem was issued by Artaxerxes I in the 20th year of his rule (Nehemiah 2:1,5,8). According to this calendar, the Messiah was to come 483 years after Artaxerxes' 1st year, i.e. on the 13th year (= 20 - 7) after the first Jubilee of Ezra dated to Artaxerxes' 7th year. The appearance of the Messiah foretold by Daniel then was to occur 4 years before the end of the 11th Jubilee. Herod the Great and Jesus Chronological, Historical and Archaeological Evidence by Gerard Gertoux

The starting point of the 490 years is set: from the going forth of the word to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. This order to restore and rebuild Jerusalem was given by Artaxerxes I in the month of Nisan in the 20th year of his reign (Ne 2:1,5,8) in April 455 BCE. As Nehemiah said that the city wall was completed in 52 days on 25 Elul (22 September), he therefore made to hear this “word to restore and rebuild Jerusalem” on 3 Ab (2 August) to the Jewish deputy rulers who returned to the city (Ne 2:16-18).

Nehemiah 2:16-18
16 And the officials did not know where I had gone or what I was doing, and I had not yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials, and the rest who were to do the work.
17 Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in, how Jerusalem lies in ruins with its gates burned. Come, let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer suffer derision.” 18 And I told them of the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, “Let us rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for the good work.
