The Quartering Act (24 marzo 1765 anni – 24 marzo 1765 anni)
Descrizione:
On March 24, 1765 the Quartering Act was passed. Also called the Mutiny Act, this act was issued to provide British soldiers with food and housing. If the barracks ran out of room for the soldiers, they had to be housed in uninhabited houses, local inns, outbuildings and stables. The colonists felt that it violated the Bill of Rights. Also colonists didn't like that they were taxed to pay for barracks and amenities for British soldiers. The Quatering Act was repealed in 1770. A harsher version was passed in 1774.
