Henri Milne-Edwards- Discovered that organisms have organelles with different functions. (31 dic 1831 anni – 31 dic 1832 anni)

Descrizione:

Henri was born in Bruges, France before it became Belgium. His father William Edwards was an English planter and militia colonel. Henri added Milne the married name of his half-sister, his godmothers. Henri chose French citizenship when Belgium became independent. Henri studied crustaceans and other ocean life when he worked at the Museum of Natural History. He was later the chair of crustaceans, myriapods, arachnids, and insects as well as the chair of mammalogy.
Milne-Edwards was majority investigating crustaceans' systems, circulation, respiration, nerve, and muscle. Published a book with his findings such as the same tissue can adapt to multiple functions. Henri found this by animals abilities to regenerate parts of themselves. In animals of higher order this ability is replaced by tissues carrying out precise and exlusive functions.
