Diaspora (332 - 300 BC) (4 feb 332 anni a. C. – 4 feb 300 anni a. C.)

Descrizione:

The Diaspora references the Jewish population living outside of Israel. With the majority of Jews living in the Diaspora, they decided to create a new set of standards for their faith and traditions while those who stayed in Babylon, formed a decent population.

In 332 BCE, Alexander the Great had conquered what is now modern Persia, Egypt and India, causing those living in the Diaspora to fall under influence of the Greek culture through the process of Hellenization. The Jews of Alexandria especially embraced Greek culture through their architecture, dress and names. The Bible was also translated into Greek (Septuagint) and it served the Diaspora for centuries.
