Battle of the Bulge (16 dic 1944 anni – 25 gen 1945 anni)
Descrizione:
After the invasion of Normandy (D-Day), allied forces had successfully created a foothold on the Western front of Europe. They continued to push German forces back toward the East, until in late 1944 Hitler decided to stage a surprise attack on the allies. This attack was named the Battle of the Bulge (because of the bulge created in the allied front by the advancing German troops), and resulted in heavy casualties on each side. Although the allied invasion of Germany was delayed because of the losses taken in this battle, it still essentially turned out to be a victory for the allies because of the immense losses Nazi Germany took. After the offensive, allied troops continued to push toward Germany on both the Western front and the Eastern front.
