Threatening Homosexuals (30 gen 1933 anni – 1 giug 1935 anni)
Descrizione:
Homosexuals increasingly became a bigger target for the Nazis. Just as it was starting to be accepted in society, the Nazi party started to attack them more, along with anyone they associated with. They strengthened a law made in 1871, known as Paragraph 175, which made homosexuality illegal. "The Nazis believed that homosexual men were 'defective' and... they did not embody the Nazis' view, the masculinity of the ideal German man." The Nazis especially didn't want to have any homosexual leaders run the government because they were at risk for manipulation and/or blackmail. Hitler even sent Nazis to kill Nazi leaders that were suspected to be gay in what is known as the Night of the Long Knives, to avoid such problems.
