Louis XVIII took the throne of France after the Bourbon monarchy was restored following the fall of Napoleon. Upon taking the throne, he quickly moved to establish a constitutional monarchy, with a bicameral legislative monarchy. It would be short lived however, as Napoleon returned to reclaim his throne.
