Sui Dynasty (581-618 CE) (1 gen 581 anni – 1 gen 618 anni)
Descrizione:
The Sui dynasty unified China after the split of the Northern and Southern Dynasties period. The dynasty set up a national government and established grain reserves to feed people in times of famine. The Sui also built the Grand Canal that improved national transportation and trade and reconstructed the Great Wall to ward off invaders. Emperor Wen supported Buddhism and the religion became a unifying point in the culture for all of China. Reforms in government, the civil service administration, laws and land distribution helped restore and centralise imperial authority.
