Regarded as one of the greatest rulers in history, Kublai founded the Yuan Dynasty, becoming the first Mongol to rule all of China and his own territories. Under him China and the Mongols enjoyed a period of prosperity while balancing ideals from both cultures. He started a project of rebuilding roads, the Grand Canal, and other structures.
