Genghis Khan started the conquest with small scale raids into Western Xia between 1205 and 1207. Starting 1260 and by 1279, Kublai Khan had established the Yuan Dynasty, crushing the Songs. This started the Mongol rule of all of China under peaceful rule with Mongol and Chinese ideals balanced in government.
