Sometimes, villagers, they come back.

THE GHOST: Between February 4-7, one of our current villagers will see someone who used to be in the game but whom was believed to have been long-disappeared. They will see this person at a distance, but close enough to recognize them clearly — The disappeared character will appear ragged and dirty, and seem to be trying to conceal themselves. The moment they realize they've been seen, they will bolt.

THE PURSUIT: The character who has seen "the disappeared" needs to be someone who will immediately grab 1-2 other villagers (either through physical proximity or network message), take off after the disappeared, and track them. The tracking won't be difficult at first — The disappeared starts off sloppy, perhaps in a panic, and leaves and obvious trail: Scraps of fabric or hair caught on branches, trampled earth, footprints, etc. This trail will lead our intrepid villagers to the south, about halfway between the South Village and the Rundown Village, and then will abruptly stop.

THE DISCOVERY: The villagers in pursuit discover a well-concealed, wooden hatch in the floor of the forest. Inside they will find a small space similar to a root cellar, accessible by a ladder and with timber-braced dirt walls. It will be thoroughly stocked with non-perishable food stores: Grains, dried fruits and vegetables, salted meats. (We'll get you a complete list a little later.) It will also be obvious at several people have been sleeping in the small space, as there will be dirty blankets on the floor. The disappeared character cannot be found; the trail is lost. One of the characters who were in pursuit needs to notify the rest of the village about what happened, either by having a "meeting" post or making an announcement on the network.
