Spanish American War- Apr 21, 1898 – Aug 13, 1898

The Spanish American War was a conflict between United States and Spain. This war ended the Spanish rule in the western Pacific and Latin America. Spain declared war on the United States on April 24th, and US followed that with a Declaration of war on the 25th, which actually took effect on the 21st. To end the war, the Treaty of Paris was signed and Spain renounced it’s power over Cuba, and left Puerto Rico and Guam with the US, and then gave US power to the Philippines for $20 million.
