In 1325, a young man raised by scholars named Ibn Battuta set out on his Hajj. He was thirsty for knowledge and wanted to find the best teachers in the world. So, he set out and arrived in Mecca in 1326. After arriving, he stayed for a while to learn about the culture of the people there, an experience that he participated in during his other travels, as well. After Mecca, he headed to Alexandria, Damascus, Afghanistan, India, and China. (3.1)
