Cause and effect of colonial rule in Africa (1 gen 1870 anni – 1 gen 1900 anni)

Descrizione:

The Scramble of Africa germinated from the low supply of natural resources in the different European countries. British companies were able to exploit the natural resources that Africa possessed for their own desires.

Britain’s control of Africa’ natural resources led to a high demand for Africa’s resources which led to an advanced mining industry. Africa’s natural resources were high in demand but the people of Africa collected no wealth for their materials.

The establishment of the British political system was a vital step in dominating Africa. Because of warring tribes and rival tribe leaders, the British were able to do this fairly easily.

When African political entities and systems were torn down and replaced with the British political system, African tribes lost their power and independence. They were powerless when Europeans forced different tribes together and split allied tribes apart.
