In lecture, while discussing how people have different views of music creativity, the Suya were brought up. The Suya do not just make new music. They believe that when a person is sick, he/she looses his/her soul, and monsters, spirits, ancestors, animals, and outsiders teach them new music. In the 80's a researcher recorded the Suya, and sold records. The Suya believed that the song recorded originated from the bee. Should the profits have gone to the bee?
