By the time Rome sacked the Greek colony of Syracuse in 212 B.C.E. to the destruction of the Greek city Corinth in 146 B.C.E. the Romans had adopted Greek culture. They borrowed the Greek gods and their associated myths, adopted a modified form of the Greek alphabet, and imitated Greek architecture. The Roman constitution was modeled on Greek lines. In reality, Romes victory over Greece was a defeat.(pg. 69)
