Fashions of the Roman Empire (15 sett 735 anni a. C. – 3 lugl 27 anni a. C.)
Descrizione:
The Greek himation became the basis of the toga.
The long piece of toga fabric was cut into rectangle or semicircle. It was then wrapped around the body, always exposing the right arm and usually covering the left arm.
Different colors would identify your occupation and only the emperor could wear purple.
Women wore a stola, a long, belted robe similar to the Greek Chiton.
Over the stola a wrap called a palla was worn.
