This war involved the Holy Roman Empire, Denmark, Sweden, and France, therefore it involved many countries across the European continent. The war was caused by King Ferdinand limiting Protestants' rights so it was a very passionate subject for everyone at this time as well. The end of the war had a lasting impact on the boundaries of European countries and changed the balance of power between the states.
