Benjamin Franklin is an American icon who is mainly known for his scientific discoveries but is also one of the reasons the United States is even a country. He was 1 of 56 men to have signed the Declaration of Independence which allowed all 13 of the original colonies to come together and form the United States. Franklin was also highly praised for his discoveries in physics and American enlightenment.
