The Great Awakening was a period of time between the 1730's and 1740's where ministers were traveling around the colonies and preaching that inner religious emotion was more important than outward religious behavior. This time period caused the colonists to change their way of thinking. The preaches by the ministers made the colonists become SUPER religious and caused an estimate of 20,000 to 50,000 new church members throughout the colonies.
