The Siege of Boston (19 apr 1775 anni – 17 marzo 1776 anni)
Shortly after Lexington and Concord, American militias surrounded the city of Boston. While the British won the Battle of Bunker Hill, and took several fortified hills surrounding the city, they lost too many soldiers to fully break through the lines of the Continental Army. In March of 1776, the Americans fortified Dorchester Heights and readied cannons to bombard the city from this location. Upon seeing the artillery batteries set up on Dorchester Heights, the British withdrew their forces from the city.
