Socrates believed that honor was the most important part of living and that life should be examined, He also frequently scrutinized coom ethical teachings leading to his execution in 399 BC. Socrates' disciple, Plato, archived Socrates' thoughts and went on to have his own prolific career in philosophy. Plato's ideas were abstract and idealist. He believed that philosophers should be the ruling elite of society and that the less intelligent should be given tasks suited to them. Plato's disciple, Aristotle discredited his ideas and believed that philosophers could accurately assess the word using just their senses. He also wrote works on biology, physics, astronomy, psychology, politics, ethics, and literature. The philosophies and ideas of Plato and Aristotle shaped the world for multiple millennia after their deaths. (2.1)
