Gupta Dynasty (1 gen 201 anni – 1 gen 590 anni)
Descrizione:
The Gupta Dynasty, founded by Chandra Gupta, unified India once more after the Mauryan Dynasty. The Gupta Dynasty was smaller in size than the Mauryan dynasty, only spanning from northern India to just north of the Deccan Plateau. Unlike the Mauryan dynasty, administration and legislation were largely local to various regions of the empire. This led to the downfall of the Gupta Dynasty when it was easily invaded by the White Huns of central Asia. Under the Gupta Dynasty, there were many advancements in the fields of mathematics and astronomy such as the concept of zero and the idea that the Earth is spherical. The state religion and most popular religion of the Gupta Dynasty was Hinduism, however, Buddhists and Hindus coexisted during the Gupta dynasty. (2.1)(2.3)
