The capital of the Byzantine Empire was Constantinople.

3 innovations/inventions - Clay grenades with greek fire, flamethrower, and pointed arch bridges. Clay grenades were made with greek fire and were introduced for warfare purposes. The flamethrower was invented by Kallinikos, again for warfare purposes. This was a monumental invention. The first bridge built was the pointed arch bridge was the Karamagara bridge.

Interactions between regions- The Byzantine Empire primarily traded in the Mediterranean with their hub city being Constantinople. There was also trade that extended all through Eurasia and North Africa. Their main trading item was Silk. Long distance trading was important, especially for goods from the middle east. These goods included oil, ivory, perfumes, and more. There were a series of wars between the Byzantines and the Arab muslims. The Empire ended by a 100 year war between the Ottoman Turks.
