Carboniferous Period (9 agos 354000000 anni a. C. – 9 agos 290000000 anni a. C.)
Descrizione:
Having the highest atmospheric oxygen levels earth has ever experienced so far, the Carboniferous Period is known for the evolution of the first reptiles. Plants started to grow and die at such a fast rate that they had the ability to turn to coal, so this period was originally labeled the Coal Measures after the proliferation of coal-bearing rocks. Starting off warm, the temperature started to drop dramatically into an ice age that lasted millions of years.
