Second Anglo-Burmese War (2 apr 1852 anni – 2 gen 1853 anni)

In 1852, negotiators were sent to Burma by the British East India Company over a number of minor issues related to the Treaty of Yandabo between the countries. The Burmese immediately made concessions including the removal of a governor whom the Company made their casus belli.

The Company provoked a naval confrontation in questionable circumstances by blockading the port of Rangoon and seizing the King's royal ship and thus started the Second Anglo-Burmese War.

After less than a year, the British were victories and the East India Company annexed the province of Pegu and renamed it Lower Burma.

The third Anglo Burmese war would last three weeks from November 7 1885 to November 29. It would fully annex Upper Burma into the British Raj.
