Description: The 2011 Egyptian revolution was an uprising against President Hosni Mubarak’s three-decade rule. The uprising was fueled by grievances over corruption, increased police brutality, unemployment, and lack of political freedoms. Millions of Egyptians protested nation-wide, demanding the overthrow of Husni Mubarak’s rule. Clashes between armed forces and protesters made it violent, with many getting injured and some being killed. Despite violent crackdowns by security forces, the scale of the protests forced Mubarak to resign on February 11, 2011. Power was transferred to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, marking the fall of Mubarak’s regime.
