Daredevil is still running his law firm with Foggy and Karen, but hears of a case regarding Bullseye's death, and how the main suspect is the White Tiger. Daredevil believes this to be suspicious and offers to be the White Tiger's lawyer in this case to help, but also find more information on the murder. His investigation goes nowhere, and he opts to see an old friend, The Punisher. He asks him about Bullseye and if he knows anything, however The Punisher lies and tells him that he had no involvement. Matt is suspicious of this response, but since he has no leads to prove otherwise, he leaves. He begins researching the murder with greater scrutiny, reading the autopsy reports. While doing research he picks up on other murders that occurred at warehouses across New York leading up to Bullseye's death. He goes and investigates one of the warehouses as Daredevil, and encounters a man who is living in the warehouse, but he is rundown and seems to be a homeless man. Daredevil disregards him and begins to investigate. The strange man asks if he is here due to the murders. Daredevil's interest is peaked and listens to the man; the man explains that he was part of the crew that got attacked that night, and explains how it was an old ghost from the past that attacked them, Ronin. He asks more about Ronin, but gets no info. Daredevil has no knowledge, since he was blipped during this period. He investigates old reports from during the blip and discovers murders that fit the description of the warehouse murders, and comparing with Bullseye's autopsy, realises these are all done by the Ronin. While researching more, he finds a report detailing the death of a women who looks familiar and realises it is the Kingpin's wife, who was also murdered in the same way. He is now fully invested and wants to discover the true identity of Ronin. So he goes and meets another old friend / foe, Kingpin. They meetup and discuss their history, what they've been through, and matt asks about Kingpin's wife. Kingpin explains how she was taken from him when he was blipped, as she wasn't blipped. Matt asks if he ever discovered who the culprit was, but this angers the Kingpin and he request Matt to immediately leave. Matt unsatisfied goes to the location of Vanessa's death, but is confronted by Kingpin's men, and a fight ensues. In court, Matt shows the evidence he has collected and pins the murder on Ronin, explaining how the murderer is still out there, and that his client is innocent. The judge claims that until this Ronin is caught and interrogated, the White Tiger will be held in custody. Frank confronts Matt telling him to drop the case, explaining that it isn't in his best interest. They argue and fight, and both come to an understanding, where Frank tells Matt who Ronin is, and his history with him. While this conversation goes on, on the news they both see Clint Barton getting ousted for Bullseye's murder, and countless others murders from his time as Ronin. Matt and Frank split up, Matt immediately goes to the police station where he greeted by the White Tiger thanking him for his work in proving him innocent. He then explains to Matt that Wilson Fisk was the one who provided the evidence in Clint's arrest. Kingpin uses this as an outlet to the public talking about how vigilantes who do not abide by the Sokovia accords are a danger to society, putting a huge target on all vigilantes, including Daredevil. Matt tracks down Frank and apologises for what happened, but also claims that Clint brought this upon himself, and Frank explains why Bullseye was killed. Afterwards, Matt realises the Kingpin put the hit on Hawkeye's wife, because in the blip Ronin killed Vanessa who was the leader of the crime syndicate when Kingpin wasn't around. Kingpin found this out, and figured out who the Ronin was, and hired Bullseye to kill Hawkeye's wife. Frank tells Matt that Clint has gone into hiding, and tells him to leave either help, or leave. Matt realises what has happened, he was played by Wilson and now an Avenger has gone into hiding, and vigilante's are seen as a threat, especially in New York. Matt begins an investigation into Hawkeye's wife's murder to prove the Kingpin guilty in a crime, but he cannot do much for Clint.
