Descrizione:

The First Boer War (was fought between the British and the Boers (Dutch settlers) in South Africa. The Boers rebelled against British control of the Transvaal region. The war ended with a Boer victory at the Battle of Majuba Hill, and the Treaty of Pretoria gave the Boers self-government but still acknowledged British rule.

This set the stage for the Second Boer War later.
