Descrizione:
The Taiping Rebellion (1850–1864) was a massive civil war in China led by Hong Xiuquan, who claimed to be Jesus Christ's younger brother. The rebellion started in southern China due to poverty and dissatisfaction with the Qing Dynasty. The Taiping army captured large areas, including Nanjing, but was eventually defeated by Qing forces with help from Western powers.
The rebellion caused the death of 20–30 million people and weakened the Qing Dynasty, making China weaker and more dependent.
