本姓丘穆陵氏，代郡高柳（今山西省阳高县）人。北魏官员，富城静公穆乙九的儿子。
门荫入仕，授中散大夫、东宫侍奉，迎娶长城公主，授驸马都尉。奉诏离婚，再娶文明太后的姐姐冯氏，累授南部尚书、侍中。卒于任上，谥号为宣。
