妻张氏，朱祖宜之子，字彦和，南朝梁吴郡钱塘人，受学于明山宾，通五经，为梁武帝所用，位至侍中、中领军。
太清元年（547 年）主张纳东魏降将侯景，又主张与东魏议和，致有侯景之乱，后建康被围，太清三年惭愤病死。
