Nat Turner (5 gen 1831 anni – 29 dic 1831 anni)
Descrizione:
Nat Turner led the most successful slave revolt dubbed, "Nat Turner". 57 whites would be killed in a single night, and the African Americans who rebelled with Nat Turner were able to rebel for 4 days. Nat Turner would be caught and hanged 2 months after his rebellion. Nat Turner's rebellion would spark mass propaganda and debates regarding slavery. The rebelling slaves would be painted in a harsh way, showing the lengths that they went to be successful with the rebellion, showing them killing white people, innocent or not, without mercy and burning buildings. Nat Turner's rebellion would result in: harsher treatment, suppression, and a change in views. Slavery was more seen in the South as a positive thing to keep the African savages in check. Nat Turner would spark other reform movements in the North while the South further attempted to suppress these movements, creating more polarization between the two.
