Descrizione:
The Taiping Rebellion was a massive civil war in China, led by Hong Xiuquan rebellion aimed to overthrow the Qing Dynasty and establish the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. While the rebellion primarily stemmed from internal dissatisfaction, it also intersected with imperialism, as Western powers, particularly Britain and France, supported the Qing Dynasty to protect their economic interests in China. The rebellion ultimately weakened China and contributed to the erosion of its sovereignty, opening the door for further imperial exploitation.
