The Marshall plan was a plan put forth to send economic aid to the Many capitalist countries in Europe, who were economically struggling financially. The U.S. sent 12 billion total dollars worth of aid. It was announced in June of 1947. This may have saved millions and millions of people from falling into the hands of Soviet Russia.
