Also known as the war of 1870, was fought between France under Napoleon III in the beginning and the Northern Germany Confederation under the Kingdom of Prussia Led by William I. Caused more independent German states to join the Northern Germany Confederation. Ended in the proclamation of the German Empire. The war caused the French army in Rome to remove itself;f which led to the annexing of Rome by Italy allowing for Italian Unification.
