The Killing Fields are mass execution sites in Cambodia where, under the Khmer Rouge regime (1975-1979), an estimated 1.25 to 3 million people were killed. Tuol Sleng Prison in Phnom Penh, the most notorious of these sites, became a center for torture and death. Today, memorials like the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum serve as a reminder of the horrific genocide.
