The Killing Fields (1 gen 1975 anni – 1 gen 1979 anni)
Descrizione:
The Killing Fields are mass execution sites in Cambodia where, under the Khmer Rouge regime (1975-1979), an estimated 1.25 to 3 million people were killed. Victims, including intellectuals, minorities, and perceived enemies, were often taken to rural areas and executed, with bodies buried in mass graves. Tuol Sleng Prison in Phnom Penh, the most notorious of these sites, became a center for torture and death. Today, memorials like the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum serve as a reminder of the horrific genocide.
