The Book of Joel is about Joel hearing from God and bringing the message to the people in Jerusalem about the locust invasion and the war set on them from the northern army as punishment for their sins against God. However, Joel invited the people in Jerusalem to call upon God to ask for forgiveness and repent from their sins. In return, God will have mercy on the people, bring restoration and a new era to the people of Jerusalem, pour out his spirit onto his people, and avenge their enemies who dare raise up against Jerusalem.
