Bosnian Crisis (6 ottob 1908 anni – 31 marzo 1909 anni)
Descrizione:
2) Austro-Hungarian conflict took shape as Austria annexed Bosnia without keeping its part of the treaty of berlin 1878, in providing diplomatic support to Russia having access to the Mediterranean through the Ottoman straits. Furthermore, it hurt Russia’s idea of Pan -Savism and threatened its influence on Serbian countries that were slowly being drawn into Austria’s empire. Serbia’s relationship with Austria worsened as it seeked out more Slavic countries in which to impose their nationalistic view points. Russia was forced to stop acting in support of Serbia, which hurt the Pan-Slavic movement it had developed all the previous years. As Russia’s “not backing down” policy was still in action, Russia started hastening its military build-up and planning for war soon. This conflict between Russia and Austria was the definitive point which made the Triple Entente an anti-Germany league.
3) Russia recognized the violation of the treaty of berlin, one of the starting points of the great war. While war hadn’t begun officially, when it came to Russia’s side it started putting down military plans for the conflict to be. An important aspect that deterred the war was that Italy, for the second time, took the diplomatic side of an opposing power (first Moroccan crisis and Bosnian crisis)
