Descrizione:

A prominent Ottoman scholar, historian, and statesman. He played a critical role in Ottoman legal reforms and wrote Tarih-i Cevdet, a ten-volume history of the Ottoman Empire. Cevdet Pasha was involved in drafting the Ottoman Civil Code (Mecelle), and his works greatly influenced Ottoman education and administration.
