Two knights marry the daughters of Afonso VI (1 gen 1093 anni – 1 gen 1097 anni)
Descrizione:
D. Raimundo marries D. Urraca, daughter of King Alfonso VI, in 1093. He is given the government of Galicia, which includes the counties of Portucale and Coimbra.
In 1096, D. Henrique marries D. Teresa (an allegedly illegitimate daughter of Alfonso VI) and is given governance of the territories between the river Tagus and the river Minho. These territories would then form into the county of Portucalense, under the dependence of D. Raimundo.
A year later, in 1097, D. Henrique frees himself from the dependence of the territories of D. Raimundo and begins to depend solely on Afonso VI. D. Henrique makes several attempts to achieve his territory’s independence during his tenure.
