The Kingdom of León (910 - 1230) (1 gen 910 anni – 10 dic 1230 anni)
Descrizione:
910 - 1230 AD: The Kingdom of León, founded in 910 when the Christian princes of Asturias shifted their capital from Oviedo to León, was an independent kingdom in the northwest Iberian Peninsula. Its kings fought civil wars, defended against Moorish and Viking invasions, and navigated power struggles over succession throughout its existence. Initially part of the Asturian kingdom divided among brothers in the early 10th century, León later absorbed Galicia. The County of Castile split off in 931, while the County of Portugal became an independent kingdom in 1139. León was eventually unified with Castile in 1230.
