Descrizione:
Causes-
1. The stock market crashed in 1929.
2. The collapse of world trade due to the Smooth- Hawley Tariff which caused increased tax prices.
3. The money supply collapsed.
4. bank failures which caused the stock market to crash as more and more people took their savings from the banks leading to them shutting down.
5. Government policies.
6. Environmental degradation by drought and farming services did not help with soil preservation, it was called the Dust Bowl and it destroyed crops and livestock.
Effects-
1. Factories were forced to shut down.
2. Farms and households were lost because of not paying their mortgage.
3. So many people got fired or pay deduction to their incomes and weren’t able to afford to feed their families.
4. Since people were getting lower incomes, it was harder to get people to save their money.
5. With people having no money or savings they went hungry through most days and sometimes stretching up to weeks.
6. Large increases in poverty and people being homeless. Which caused a large increase in the population of rodents on the streets, so sickness and diseases became a large issue as well.
7. With families not getting money and not having any jobs, Hitler promised jobs for everyone through his speeches, so all of society was on his side because everyone wanted a change.
