Treaty of Versailles, On the 28 jun 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was signed by two of the German representatives marking the end of the 4 year war. Part of why it was made was because the three main allied powers, France, England and the USA, wanted revenge on Germany and to prevent another war by stopping Germany from getting as powerful again....which didn't last long.
